Since our launch two years ago, KYND has pledged 10% of every sale to Sungai Watch, a grassroots environmental organization in Indonesia dedicated to protecting rivers by installing trash barriers in rivers around Bali. Through this partnership, we’re tackling plastic pollution at its source, intercepting waste before it reaches the ocean.
Three months ago, with the support of our community, KYND installed our first trash barrier in Bali. This isn’t just a symbolic effort—80% of ocean plastic originates in rivers, and barriers like ours are a critical defense against waste flowing from rivers to seas. By stopping pollution upstream, we’re making a tangible difference that helps protect marine ecosystems and keeps plastic out of the ocean.
Located here, at the Canggu Shortcut, our barrier collects an average of 118 kg of plastic waste a quarter.
80% of ocean plastic comes from rivers and coastlines, while the remaining 20% originates from marine sources like fishing nets. Our goal is to help alleviate both: we transform ocean plastics, such as discarded fishing nets, into beautiful apparel, and leverage our revenue to clean and protect rivers.
WHY WE DONATE 10%
As a brand, we’re committed to redefining the role of business in protecting the environment. Profit isn’t isolated from environmental health; it’s directly linked. At KYND, we believe every company has a responsibility to operate with purpose and integrity. By investing 10% of each purchase back into environmental action, we’re putting our values into practice and encouraging others to do the same.
JOIN THE MOVEMENT
KYND’s commitment is more than a percentage—it’s a call to action. With every purchase, you’re supporting an alliance of people and organizations who believe in making a difference. And we’re proud to say that our customers are part of a growing community that values sustainable practices and genuine impact.
If you’re inspired by our mission, we invite you to spread the word. Together, we can drive more change, inspire other businesses to step up, and contribute to a future where fashion and environmental responsibility go hand-in-hand.
